New Big Wong
About This Spot
New Big Wong sits quietly yet confidently along the busy stretch of PR-578 in Ponce, where local rhythms meet the comforting allure of familiar, home-style cooking. The moment you step inside, there’s a sense of unpretentious warmth — the kind that makes you feel like you’ve found a small refuge from the day’s bustle. It’s the kind of neighborhood spot where the pace is steady and unhurried, a place where meals invite you to pause and savor more than just flavors.
The air carries subtle hints of spices and wok-fired ingredients, blending Puerto Rican soul with Chinese culinary tradition in a way that feels natural rather than forced. This isn’t about fine dining or extravagant presentation; the charm here is rooted in authenticity and care, where the dishes come with stories of family preferences and long-standing local favorites. Whether it's the satisfying crunch of fried chicken paired with familiar sides or a comforting serving of mofongo that surprises with its soulful twist, each plate feels like a personal invitation to explore a fusion crafted over time.
The energy in New Big Wong brews a quiet rhythm — a mix of locals picking up their favorite orders, conversations folded softly into the background, and the occasional bursts of quick service when the kitchen rises to the occasion. It’s the kind of place where regulars find a dependable food refuge, and first-timers discover a layered experience that feels both approachable and rooted in place.
For those who know it well, New Big Wong isn’t just about feeding a hunger; it’s about reconnecting with a style of dining that’s unpretentious yet thoughtfully executed. Here, the food serves as a gentle bridge between cultures, and the atmosphere embraces guests with a straightforward sincerity that quietly invites you back.

A bit slow if you order in store... but if the order is done by phone 20-30 min prior going to the place, there wont be delays for picking the order up.

Only place I purchase pechuga a la plancha with tostones al ajillo which is my favorite dish among other foods that they prepare. Well seasoned and served.

Good food, reasonable prices. Should have small portions for kids or small eaters. I recommend it and I will be back.
